We’ve saved this much waste from landfills. We’ve worked hard to compost, redirect, reuse and refuse everything we can to minimize our impact on the environment.
Apart from all the plastic and paper wrappings used in the industry, there is a product called floral foam used by many florists to help aid in the design process. This foam block is used to hold arrangements in place and supply the design with water. About 250 million bricks of floral foam are destined for the landfill every year.
oliFLOR is committed to #NoFloralFoam. It is not biodegradable and the only thing it fills is the landfill. We also compost every trimming, stem, leaf and bud we use. This allows it to be recycled into the next growth.
We’re doing things different here in Miami. This isn’t “Greenwashing”; this is true Earth Stewardship.

"Adding flowers to our community-based compost program is crucial due to their rich nitrogen content. Nitrogen is a vital nutrient for soil health and plant growth, and flowers contribute to the compost's nitrogen balance, aiding in the decomposition process. Composting flowers alongside food scraps enhances the compost's fertility and promotes microbial activity, resulting in nutrient-rich soil amendments. Additionally, flowers attract pollinators, supporting biodiversity and ecosystem health. Therefore, incorporating flowers into our composting efforts enriches the soil and fosters a sustainable and flourishing environment for our community."

Apart from all the plastic and paper wrappings used in the industry, there is a product called floral foam used by many florists to help aide in the design process. This foam block is used to hold arrangements in place and supply the design with water. There's 250 million bricks of floral foam destined for the landfill every year, and the fact that it's not biodegradable puts a huge impact on our environment.
We’re completely committed to #NoFloralFoam. Alternatively, we use natural design processes in all of our designs. We are committed to educating our Clients on these alternative methods to make the design process environmentally friendly and to keep floral foam out of the landfill.
